Viral Thread: Family Adopts A Very Social Cat Named Dimitri And Treats Him Like Their First Child

As cat owners, we all have one thing in common, and that's the fact that we cannot help but treat our kitties like our babies. If baby-shaped and baby-sized, then how can we not treat them like babies, right? And we do a lot of things with them that we would with babies. We talk to our cats as if they're babies, and we say some really silly stuff. We pick up our cats as if they're babies… even when they don't feel like being held. We take our cats to the doctor's where, as with children, we proceed to attempt to guess what's wrong. We love them. That's why we baby them. And those of us who don't have babies yet do it a bit extra.

That's the story of this couple - who adopted their first cat. i.e. their first baby, and is 100% treating the cat as such. And it's adorable. It's adorable enough to go viral.

"The first night at our house in Nov 2022. We adopted him from a family member when he was 6 months old. The family member adopted him from the Humane Society about a month before this, then when she was too busy to keep up with his very social and sweet self, she offered him to us because we'd been looking into adopting a pet."

"The first playground we installed for him in the stairwell. These were like $80 total on Wayfair and they're super light and easy to install."

"We also just added a large exercise wheel to the set up. Can't say I endorse this product yet because he won't get into it and it's all kinda shitty plastic, doesn't feel worth its price yet but hopefully Dimitri gets into it and it pays itself off. It's the only one I could find that was big enough for once he is the Longest Boi he will eventually be."
